Windham Rotary Club Begins Planning for Charter Celebration
The Windham Rotary Club has officially begun planning for its Charter Celebration, scheduled for September 1, 2026, at The Windham Restaurant. The date was confirmed during the club's breakfast meeting last Tuesday, and members are excited to begin preparations for what promises to be a memorable evening celebrating the club's first year of service to the community.
Plans currently call for a reception-style event featuring cocktails, a buffet dinner, heavy appetizers, and dessert. Club members are seeking volunteers to work with Karolyn and the team at The Windham Restaurant to explore menu options and finalize catering details. A cash bar is anticipated, with the possibility of including a drink ticket with each event ticket. The planning committee is also considering creating a signature cocktail to commemorate the occasion.
To keep the event affordable and accessible, organizers are targeting a ticket price of no more than $50 per person, with the final cost dependent upon menu selections and event expenses.
Several volunteer opportunities are available as planning moves forward. The club is seeking assistance with invitation design, guest list development, marketing and publicity, event budgeting, and program development. Pre-event marketing will focus on highlighting the club's accomplishments and the charitable organizations it has supported during its inaugural year. Following the celebration, photos and event highlights will be shared with the community.
Work is also underway to develop the evening's program and timeline. Organizers are looking for a volunteer to draft a proposed agenda that appropriately recognizes the club's charter members, supporters, partner organizations, and the many individuals who helped bring Rotary back to Windham.
The Charter Celebration will provide an opportunity not only to recognize the club's accomplishments during its first year, but also to thank the many members, community partners, neighboring Rotary clubs, and supporters who helped transform an idea into a thriving service organization. Additional details and volunteer opportunities will be announced as planning continues.
