Volunteer Opportunities April - May Please use the links at the end of this section to sign up to help. - Select Bring Back the Trades, April 18: We are promoting trades careers and encouraging the next generation through an upcoming expo showcasing fields like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The event will emphasize essential skills, rewarding career options, and personal growth opportunities. Windham Rotary will contribute four volunteers to assist with various tasks during the event.
- United Way Day of Caring: May 15: The Londonderry YMCA plays a key role in local education by offering affordable before- and after-school care, as well as a popular summer camp that keeps children active and engaged. In May, the community gathers for "Caring Day' to volunteer and prepare the YMCA Londonderry facility for summer, helping with tasks like cleaning and outdoor maintenance. This event fosters community spirit, strengthens neighborly bonds, and supports the ongoing services the YMCA provides to families.
- Memorial Day Parade, May 25: The Town of Windham is looking for 2 people on Monday, 5/25, to manage the Rogers Field Parking lot for the Town of Windham/Rec Dept's Memorial Day Parade. It would be 8 am-11 am. Basically, the town cones off the parking lot so no one can park there. If the town doesn't have someone there, then people move the cones. In this parking lot, the Windham Community Band plays before and after the event, and we have a trailer with free ice cream. It has to be car-free for safety reasons.
- Strawberry Festival, May 30: The Strawberry Festival is seeking volunteers from the Rotary Club to assist with the Bike Parade. Duties include handling registrations, managing participants, and overseeing traffic. More details will be provided after the meeting on April 6.
